C.H.A.I.M. — Children of Holocaust
Survivors in Michigan (Detroit) —
and the George Garvil Memorial
Fund will host a Midwest regional
“Gathering of the Tribe” for all
children of survivors, grandchildren
of survivors and spouses on Sunday,
June 26, and Monday, June 27.
Activities will include a tour of
the Holocaust Memorial Center in
Farmington Hills, a discussion of
“Who We Are and Our Mission for
the Future,” a visit to the Motown
Museum and showing of “Deli Man,”
followed by a deli dinner, Klezmer
music and dancing. All meals are
kosher.
Total cost for all meals and
events is $54 per person. For hotel

at Congregation
Beth Shalom in

Oak Park.
Prior to that, she will be attending
Beth Shalom for Shabbat June 24 and
25 to meet congregants and learn
their traditional melodies.
Batchelor graduated from the
Jewish Theological Seminary with a
master’s degree in sacred music and
investiture as a cantor. She lives with
her husband, Steven Winkelman, and
son, Benny, in Canada.

its new AfterCare
Alyssa Tobias
Program.
Tobais has established an outreach pro-
gram for the patrons of the Birmingham
cemetery who have recently suffered a
loss in their families. The program is
designed to help people who have suf-
fered a loss navigate through the myriad
of emotion and paperwork.
Tobais brings skills in counseling
and grief therapy acquired at Hospice
of Southeastern Michigan and the
Trowbridge senior apartments in

The Southfield-based 46th District Court is conducting an amnesty program
through June 20. The court will waive late fees on eligible traffic tickets and park-
ing violations as well as late fees and warrant fees on eligible traffic misdemean-
ors (those not requiring a court appearance).
