This year Kadima is hosting its 15th Annual Golf Classic
to benefit the Lois and Milton Y. Zussman Activity
Center. The event is a special posthumous tribute to
Lois Zussman — a woman whose strength and years of
tireless support for Kadima significantly advanced the
organization’s work of assisting individuals with mental
health needs — and is thusly named in her honor
The Lois Zussman Kadima Golf Classic.

Known for her kind heart and dedication to philanthropy,
Zussman was inspired by her step son, having observed
his experience with mental health challenges, to assist
others who knew this hardship all too well. Zussman was
elected to the Board of Directors in 1993. Following her
steady service on the Board of Directors, she received an
appointment as a lifetime honorary board member of
Kadima.

As a major benefactor to Kadima, Zussman worked to
benefit the organization’s clients and mission by raising
funds for the Lois and Milton Y. Zussman Activity Center,
primarily through the Kadima Golf Classic. Year after year,
she and Milton, her husband of 52 years, contributed
their time and money to ensure the event was a success.

Not only was Zussman dedicated to the Golf Classic, she
served as a longtime sponsor of Kadima’s Annual Event
and helped facilitate Kadima’s Jazz in the Courtyard
event. Zussman was an advocate for launching Kadima’s
child and adolescent programs to serve youth ages 8-18
that had been diagnosed with emotional and behavioral
disorders.

In addition to her dedication to Kadima, Zussman actively
worked with Imerman Angels, The Cancer Thrivers
Network for Jewish Women, and the Mothers, Daughters,
Sisters, Friends Event for Henry Ford Hospital. She was
honored by Temple Emanu-El for exemplary services and
generosity, having donated her time and talents for 55
years. Zussman also served as a constant supporter of
Gilda’s Club, Planned Parenthood, Detroit Symphony, St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital, JARC, NCJW - Greater
Detroit Section and Tamarack Camps.

The Lois Zussman Golf Classic will take place July 25,
2016 at the Franklin Hills Country Club in Franklin,
Michigan. All proceeds from the event support Kadima’s
Lois and Milton Y. Zussman Activity Center, which
provides a safe haven for Kadima’s clients, where they can
enjoy and benefit from social and recreational activities,
educational classes, healthy cooking lessons, holiday
events and a community atmosphere with their peers.
The 14th Annual Kadima Golf Classic had more than 200
attendees and raised more than $100,000.
