TERRI SWARTZ, 67, of
West Bloomfield, died
April 30, 2016.
She is survived by

in-law, Jack Polsky; niec-
es and nephews, Dana (Dr. Jeff) Rochlen,
Dr. Stephanie (Dr. Herb) Aronow; great-
nieces, great-nephews; “pseudo grand-
children,” Abby and Matthew Rochlen,
Hannah and Joshua Aronow; sisters-in-law
and brothers-in-law, Myrna (Ken) Dosie,
Elissa Leslie, Bernard (Marleen) Swartz;
nieces and nephews, Bonnie Pollack, Ross
Dosie, Jennifer Perkins, Randy Swartz,
Jason Swartz and Tia Bernard. She is also
survived by many other loving family
members and friends.
Mrs. Swartz was the sister of the late
Joyce Polsky.
Interment took place at the Adat
Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery in
Livonia. Contributions may be made
to the American Heart Association.

ELAINE FRANCES THORPE, 78, of
Birmingham, died April 22, 2016.
She taught for the Department of
Defense in Japan, Turkey, Germany and
Ann Arbor. In Arlington, Va., she taught
elementary school and, in Michigan,
taught English to adults as a second lan-
guage.
An early member of Congregation Shir
Tikvah, she was a member of its sister-
hood and was a volunteer for Cranbrook
Wildflower Rescue.
Mrs. Thorpe is survived by her hus-
band, Norman Thorpe; daughters and
sons-in-law, Sarah and Christopher
Chisholm of Troy, Carrie and Joshua
Keough of Bloomfield Hills; sister, Marilyn
Leboy of Wilmette, Ill.; grandchildren,
Anna Chisholm, Callum Chisholm, Evan
Chisholm, Evelyn Keough; sister-in-
law and brother-in-law, Robert Jay and
Elizabeth Thorpe; other loving relatives
and friends, including John “Chip” and
Nancy Keough.
Mrs. Thorpe was the loving mother of
the late Andrew Thorpe.
Interment was held at Oakview
Cemetery in Royal Oak. Arrangements by
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.
MORRIS TURKISH, 70, of Oak Park, died
April 25, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Turkish;
daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Viner,
Jennifer and Alexei Moutsatsos of Royal
Oak; brother and sister-in-law, William
and Cindy Turkish of Huntington Woods;
grandchildren, Jonathon Viner, Julia Viner,
Samantha Moutsatsos, Joshua Moutsatsos;
niece and nephew, Jessica Turkish, Jason
Turkish.
Contributions may be made to Jewish
National Fund (Trees), 24100 Chagrin
Blvd., Suite 100, Cleveland, OH 44122;

was held at Hebrew Memorial Park.

Weinman
BEVERLY WEINMAN,
92, of Oak Park, died
April 29, 2016.
She worked till she
was in her 80s.
She was active with
the Yiddish Club at
the Oak Park Jewish
Community Center
and she worked on the
Jewish Archives. An
active member of the Radomer Society,
she also volunteered with the Jewish War
Veterans and loved swimming, walking,
gardening, traveling and entertaining with
her friends.
Mrs. Weinman is survived by her
daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ellis
Fabian of Toronto, Canada, and Susan and
Dr. Murray Rebner of Ann Arbor; grand-
children, Marc Robert and Jennifer Clark
Fabian, Andrea Sharon Fabian, Debra
Sonia Fabian, Rachel Elissa Rebner, Max
Isaac Rebner; great-grandchildren, Lyra
Fabian, Liam Fabian; sisters-in-law and
brother-in-law, Helen Shapiro, Bill and
Carole Weinman; loving nieces, nephews,
cousins and many friends.
She was the beloved wife for 65 years
of the late Hyman “Tiny” Weinman; dear
sister of the late Harvey Shapiro.
Contributions may be made to any
Jewish charity. Interment was held
at Machpelah Cemetery in Ferndale.
