West Bloomfield, died
April 22, 2016.
She is survived by
her daughters and
sons-in-law, Lorie Savin
and Adam Larky of
West Bloomfield, Heidi
Savin
and Trey Vecera of
Columbia, Md.; brother
and sister-in-law, Allan and Barbara Ben
of Bloomfield Township; grandchildren,
Elizabeth, Abigail, Maya and Ethan; many
loving nieces, nephews, other family mem-
bers and friends.
Interment took place at the Hebrew
Memorial Park in Clinton Township.
Contributions may be made to Temple
Israel. Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.

of Farmington Hills,
died April 22, 2016.
He is survived by his
beloved wife, Helen

daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy Shapiro
and Andrew Mathieson, Cindy and Bryan
Ekus, Denise and Rabbi Michael Stern;
grandchildren, Lauren (Shawn) Mueller,
Alexandra (Michael) Waisanen, Alden
Mathieson, Bradley Guz, Austin Shapiro,
Alix Ekus, Dylan Shapiro, Miriah Ekus,
Moshe Stern, Yoshi Stern, Devorah Stern,
Shiya Stern, Elliana Stern; sister, Beverly
(the late Hyman) Weinman.
Mr. Shapiro was the beloved husband of
the late Arlene Stern; the grandfather of
the late Shoshana Stern.
Interment took place at the Machpelah
Cemetery in Ferndale. Contributions may
be made to Congregation Beth Ahm or
to the Beaumont Hospital Wheelchair/
Scooter Fund. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

ILENE SINGER, 73, of Tamarac, Fla., for-
merly of Detroit, died April 22, 2016.
She is survived by her brother and
sister-in-law, Leonard and Carol Singer of
Coconut Creek, Fla.; aunts, Molly Benton,
Eleanor Brown; nieces and nephews, Dr.
Robert and Amy Singer, Brian and Donna

Singer, Dan and Debbie Singer, Matthew
and Marta Singer, Sara Singer; great-nieces
and great-nephews.
Mrs. Singer was the loving daughter of
the late Esther and the late Martin Singer;
dear sister and sister-in-law of the late
Myron and the late Diane Singer.
Services and interment were held
at Machpelah Cemetery in Ferndale.

Chapel.

SHERWIN VINE, 98, of
Birmingham, died April
20, 2016.
He is survived by his
son and daughter-in-law,
William Vine and Karol
Friedman of Huntington
Woods; many loving
Vine
nieces and nephews.
Mr. Vine was the
beloved husband of the late Goldie Vine;
the devoted son of the late Isadore and the
late Bessie Vine; the loving brother of the
late Milton and the late Muriel Vine, the
late Bernice and the late Joseph Berger.
Interment was at Machpelah Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to a char-
ity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

Wigod

SHELDON WIGOD,
Ph.D., 81 of Lakewood,
Ohio, died April 20,
2016.
He was a U. S. Army
veteran, an English pro-
fessor at Tri-C West and
artistic director of the
New Mayfield Repertory
Cinema (1975-1985) of

Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Wigod is survived by his brother,
Gerald E. (Fran) of West Bloomfield; sev-
eral nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made to the
Humane Society or a charity of one’s
choice. Memorial service details will be
announced at a later date.

Be good to your gums and your heart will thank you.

People with poor oral health have a higher incidence of heart disease. So show your
gums a little love. Brush and floss regularly and schedule periodic dental exams.
