Instead of
Clinic
attending a
black-tie fundraiser while paying a baby-
sitter, the Burnstein Clinic is offering its
supporters an alternative — stay at home
and make an online donation that directs
all the money raised toward operating
this facility.
The clinic provides free healthcare to
Michigan residents who need it most.
Working with Crowdrise, the clinic
designed a campaign to make a signifi-
cant impact without asking too much
from its supporters’ busy schedules.
“Every single dollar we raise goes
directly to the clinic,” said board presi-
dent Ian Burnstein.
For example, a $20 donation pays
for one month of supplies for a patient
with a chronic condition; $50 secures a
full course of antibiotics for five adult
patients; $100 pays a year’s worth of
medication for two high-risk patients.
The non-event is “scheduled” for May
12, and the campaign has already begun.

The Friends of the
March of the Living
will embark on its
annual adult trip, May
3-15, visiting sites in
Poland and Lithuania
that are connected
with Jewish history
Cantor David
and the Holocaust
Propis
before traveling to
Israel.
This year’s march will be accompanied
by Cantor David Propis of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in Southfield. He is the
son of survivors and has experience lead-
ing groups on educational and musical
tours of eastern Europe.
In Poland, the March will visit sites of
Jewish historical importance in Gdansk,
Warsaw, Krakow, Lublin and Lodz and
the death camps of Stutthoff, Auschwitz-
Birkenau and Majdanek. Propis’ mother
survived Stutthoff.
In Lithuania, participants will visit
sites of Jewish interest in Vilna and on
Yom HaShoah will march with more
than 12,000 teens and other adults from
Auschwitz to Birkenau to commemorate
the death march imposed by the Nazis
during the Holocaust. For more informa-
tion, visit the website www.friendsofthe-
