obituaries » DR. NORMAN J. BOLTON, 81, of Beverly Hills, Mich., died April 6, 2016. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1954 Bolton and graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1958. Following school, he did his internship at Harper Hospital in Detroit and his surgical residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit. After his residency, Dr. Bolton served as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1962- 1964. He was in private practice from 1966 until the time of his death and served as chief of staff at Sinai Hospital from 1986-1989. Dr. Bolton served on the Michigan Board of Medicine from 1983-1990 and was the board’s chairman from 1987-1990. He published several surgical articles and was a member of numerous medi- cal and surgical societies. He was also a Platinum Life Member of the American Contract Bridge League and a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Dr. Bolton is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Bryan Bolton of Novi, David and Julie Bolton of Melville, N.Y.; daughter, Wendy Bolton of Beverly Hills, Mich.; grandchildren, Eric Bolton, Corey Bolton and Benjamin Hanscom-Bolton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Paula Bolton, Dr. Steven Bolton and Dr. Jane Kelley. He was the beloved husband of the late Sheila Bolton; the devoted son of the late Bernard and the late Esther Bolton. Interment was at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
