A
record crowd of 500 enjoyed JVS’ eighth annual
Trade Secrets, held March 9 at Temple Beth El
in Bloomfield Township. Linda Schlesinger-
Wagner, founder of skinnytees, headlined the event,
which raised a record $275,000 through generous spon-
sorships, ticket sales, a raffle and a new text-to-give
initiative.
Proceeds support JVS women’s jobs programs includ-
ing the Women to Work Program, which helps women
enter the job market after difficult life transitions. JVS
honored Felicia Militello of Commerce Township with
the Women to Work Award.

WINGO Fun Annual event raises nearly $50,000 for ORT projects.
M
ore than 300 women came out to Congregation
Beth Ahm in West Bloomfield March 10 for
ORT Michigan’s annual WINGO (Women’s
only BINGO). This year’s theme was “Back to the Basics,”
concentrating on 10 rounds of Bingo with prizes valued at
$100 or more, including a grand prize of $150 cash.
The event included a silent auction, raffles, a stroll-
ing dinner and desserts. Henry Ford West Bloomfield
Hospital also had guests make their own aromatherapy
sachets. Major sponsors were Hanson’s Windows, Henry
Ford and the Suburban Collection.
WINGO 2016 raised nearly $50,000 for ORT. Funds
raised include support for ORT’s You-niversity Centers of
Excellence program, which provides disadvantaged stu-
dents with science-related extracurricular activities.
Next up for ORT Michigan is its second annual ORT
and the City event, which celebrates art, fashion and
Detroit, on Thursday, May 19, at Eastern Market’s Shed 5.
