Divestment and Sanctions (BDS)” at
noon-2 p.m. on
Sunday, March 27, at
the Southfield syna-
gogue.

Aranoff, director of
the Jewish Studies
Program at Michigan
State University,
will be the keynote

panel of Jewish com-
munal and academic professionals and
student advocates will discuss the BDS
movement as a catalyst for global anti-
Semitism, its effect on college campuses
and current legislation.
There will be a meet, greet and nosh
before the presentation. The free event
will be held at the Berman Center for
Jewish Education inside Shaarey Zedek.

SIFT (Suicidal Ideation Family Teams)
and AMI (Alliance for the Mentally
Ill of Oakland County) will present a
panel discussion on navigating the
maze of doctor/patient communica-
tion as it relates to suicidal thoughts
and mental health issues at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, March 23, at Beaumont
Hospital Administration Building in
Royal Oak.
Sue Serlin is founder and chairper-
son of SIFT, a group of clergy, profes-
sionals and lay people who have been
involved with the mental health system
and are dedicated to sharing their
knowledge and tools with others. She
has navigated the system many times
— with one child with juvenile rheu-
matoid arthritis and another who died
by suicide.
Her research, documentation and
outside-the-box tools along the road to
helping her suicidal son resulted in the
book, Goodnight My Son, I Love You.
The panel discussion will be fol-
lowed by audience participation. For
