Joshua Ethan Balan,
son of Rachel
Margules and Steven
Balan, will read from
the Torah on the
occasion of his bar
mitzvah at Temple
Israel in West
Balan
Bloomfield on
Saturday, Feb. 27. He
will be joined in cel-
ebration by his siblings Andrew and
Melissa and proud grandfather Dr.
Saul Margules. Joshua is also the
grandchild of the late Lenamyra
Margules, and the late Saralyn and the
late Jerry Balan.
Joshua is a student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. As
part of his many mitzvah projects, he
volunteered at Yad Ezra in Berkley to
help combat hunger in our commu-

exceptionally meaningful as he worked
side by side with his grandfather, who
gives his time to Yad Ezra daily.
