avid Rosenthal of West
Bloomfield will turn 93 on Feb.
23. He is amazing as a father
to two daughters and grandfather to two
granddaughters. He was married to Ester
for 60 years. David was born in Chicago,
but lived most of his adult life in Detroit. He
served in the Army for four years and was
president/owner of the Capital Wrecking
Company for more than 40 years.

hyllis Kahn of West Bloomfield will
be 92 on Feb. 24. She was born in
New York and moved to Detroit as
a teenager. Phyllis was widowed at a young
age, but did an amazing job raising three
daughters and one son. She worked for
many years at Hughes and Hatcher. She has
enjoyed singing in choirs and loves spending
time with her children, six grandchildren
and three (soon to be four) great-grandchil-
dren.

eymour Ekelman turns 91 on Feb.
24. He is a graduate of Wayne’s
Medical College and practiced as an
OB/GYN for more than 40 years. He also
has a master’s in public health. Seymour was
born and raised in Detroit and has two sons
and one daughter. He has been active all
his life, playing many sports and has always
been a health advocate.
