BOND HONOREES

Detroit residents Lori and Steven Weisberg
received the Israel68 Award at the Israel
Bonds International Prime Minister’s Club
Dinner held Jan. 31 in Boca Raton, Fla. The
Weisbergs were one of 13 honorees from
across North America recognized by Israel
Bonds for exemplary efforts on behalf of
Israel and their respective Jewish communi-
ties. More than $250 million in Israel bond
investments were announced at the event.

B’rith Great Lakes Region will present the 2016 International
Guardian of the Menorah Award to Peter A. Perlman,
Wednesday evening, March 16, at a dinner in his honor at Tam-
O-Shanter Country Club in West Bloomfield.
Guest speaker will be Dan Mariachin, executive vice presi-
dent, B’nai B’rith International. The emcee will be journalist Lila
Lazarus. Rabbi Joshua Bennett from Temple Israel will provide
the invocation and benediction.

WINS GRANT

Friendship Circle’s Lessons For Life 2.0
program has been awarded $50,000 by
the Dresner Foundation.
Lessons For Life (L4L) is a life skills
program that utilizes the Friendship
Circle’s unique Weinberg Village that
provides students with special needs
extensive life skills learning oppor-
tunities. This program fills the gap
between classroom learning and real-
world experience.
Since the 2005 opening of
Friendship Circle’s Farber Kaufman
Lifetown on Meer Family Friendship
Center, 10,000 students from 200
schools and 50 school districts have
participated in the L4L program.
Lessons For Life 2.0 (LFL 2.0) is a
more robust version of L4L, which
includes the creation of individualized
