LEFT: The family room and infor-
mal dining area, housed in an
addition by the Roths’ home’s
previous owners, is filled with
organic, aged elements, which
Ross integrated with a backdrop
of creamy tones. A limestone fire-
place was brought in from a mon-
astery in France, the flooring is
reclaimed stone from the streets
of Belgium and the informal din-
ing table was made from the hull
of a ship. Above, a steel-based
Holly Hunt lighting fixture hold
hollowed-out, electrified candles.

OPPOSITE PAGE, TOP: “I can
never tire of white,” says Jodi
Caden, owner of Birmingham’s
Caden Design Group. “But I try
to put a different spin on every
white home I do. It doesn’t have
to be plain or flat or always the
same. It can have its own person-
ality.” In the master bath of this
Bloomfield Hills home, she mixed
it up with antiqued mirrors, stain-
less steel and a mohair-covered
stool for an understated yet luxu-
rious look of 1920s Hollywood
glamour.

a flea-market coffee table and
a concrete vase add texture to
the whitewashed family room
of Helaine and Mark Keller’s
Birmingham home. A wall of
recessed shelves highlights a

lection of white ceramic vases,
which are scattered throughout
the home.
