YOUNG, 89, of West
Bloomfield, died Jan. 1,
2016.
He is survived by his
daughter, Zeena Hine
of Stamford, Conn.; son
and daughter-in-law,
Young
Loren Young and Janice
Allweiss of Farmington
Hills; grandchildren,
Amanda and Nicholas Springstead; great-
granddaughter, Grace Springstead.
Mr. Young was the beloved husband
of the late Midred Bogin Young; loving
father-in-law of the late Edward Hine; the
dear brother of the late Julius and the late
Ruthe Young.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made to
Yad Ezra, 2850 W. 11 Mile Road, Berkley,
MI 48072, www.yadezra.org; or a char-
ity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

IDF Casualties
Down In 2015

The number of Israeli soldiers who died
during their service in 2015 was the low-
est in a decade, the Israel Defense Forces
said Sunday.
According to IDF Personnel
Directorate data, a total of 36 soldiers
died in 2015. Six were killed in the line
of duty, seven in road accidents and two
in other accidents. Six died of terminal
illnesses, and 15 other deaths were con-
sidered “suspected suicides.”
Seventy Israeli soldiers were killed in
the line of duty in 2014, including 67
during Operation Protective Edge in the
Gaza Strip. Forty Israeli soldiers died in
2013.

the late Moshe Weinberger and the late
David Weinberger.
