Jackie Friedman, 22, a senior defend-
er at Dartmouth, was named the Ivy
League Defensive Player of the Year.
College Football: Josh Rosen, 18,
UCLA, QB. Rosen is starting at QB
as true freshman for the Bruins. His
poise in the pocket and strong, accu-
rate arm makes it likely that he will
turn pro before he graduates. Mike
Bercovici, 22, Arizona State, QB.
Bercovici earned the loyalty of Sun
Devils’ fans and staff alike by refusing
to transfer out when it seemed certain
he would not get the chance to start
