Movie Talk Kadima's Cuckoo's Nest event inspires mental health discussion.

M

ore than 150 people gathered at the Maple
Theater for an educational Kadima event No v
30 presented by Vesco Oil and the Epstein
family. The 40th anniversary of One Flew Over the
Cuckoo's Nest inspired the event.
Elliot Wilhelm, Detroit Institute of Arts' film curator,
provided historical context for the film, set in a time of
counter-culture and rebellion.
Following the film, Wilhelm moderated a discussion
with psychiatrist Dan Guyer, M.D., and Kadima Clinical

Director Jean Nemenzik, LMSW, about the film's por-
trayal of mental health and its accuracy as well as positive
changes in services and the need to continue improving
those services for individuals with mental health chal-
lenges and their families.
"This Kadima event was a great success:' Lena Epstein
said. "The Epstein family was thrilled to be a part of it"
