Bloomfield and as a 10-year pancre-
atic cancer survivor, he was instru-
mental in funding genetic research for
the Sky Foundation, an organization
devoted to awareness and early detec-
tion of this potentially fatal disease.
Jack and Miriam also donated a
fully equipped emergency ambulance
for use in Israel through Mogen David
Adorn.
He was known for showing up
at the homes of friends and family
members with his "Mezuzah Mitzvah
Box',' a box filled with mezuzahs
and the necessary tools to affix each
mezuzah to the recipient's doorpost.
"He brought hammers and nails
that could penetrate anything, even
concrete Rabbi Bergstein said.
Jack supported a myriad of other
charities at home and in Israel — a
legacy his children and grandchildren
have continued.
