The apologetic Nordstrom depart-
ment store chain, which answered each
complaining email, pulled a women's
Chanukah sweater from its outlets and
website after criticism on social media
for perpetuating negative stereotypes of
Jewish women.
The blue sweater has the words "Chai
Maintenance" knitted on the top and
"Hanukkah J.A.P." on the bottom. J.A.P.
stands for Jewish American Princess, a
pejorative.
A men's version says "Mazel tov" on
the top front and "Oy vey" on the back
and "Happy Hanukkah" on both sides. It
remains on sale.
The sweater, without the offensive
wording, can be found on Amazon. *

As cellphone manufacturers strive to
develop batteries that will last lon-
ger, an Israeli startup is tackling the
problem from a different direction
— developing a disposable charging
unit that can recharge a phone, giving
it enough juice to keep going for up to
four hours.
It's not the only solution to on-the-go
charging, but at an expected list price
of $2.50, the "mobeego" is likely to be
one of the cheapest.
The charger — designed in the
shape of a can of Red Bull or Rockstar
—will fit any Android or iPhone
model, but requires a universal adapt-
er, which will be sold at the same sales
points that the chargers are sold for
