Her grandparents are Eleanor Blum, Jerome and Arlene Blum, Ruth Stapleton, Richard and Becky Stapleton. Alexandra attends Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. She is in eighth grade. Alexandra is part of the Links Program at school, which served as her mitzvah project. She works with children who have disabilities such as autism, physical disabilities and children needing extra help in their learning process. Hope Olivia Tushman, daughter of Lisa and Reed Tushman, will read from the Torah as she becomes a bat mitzvah at Temple Israel in West Tushman Bloomfield on Saturday, Oct. 17. She will be joined in celebration by her sisters Brooke and Paige. Hope is the loving grandchild of Pat and Jerry Katchman, and Joanne and Earl Tushman. Hope attends Berkshire Middle School in Birmingham. As part of her mitzvah project, she organized a toy drive for children in need, which she found to be very meaningful.
