For lower-priced, high-quality family dining ... mosey on down to Moe's on Ten.
T
he annual upsurge of good neighbor-
hood family restaurants is always
looked upon with great favor ... As
usual, regardless of age, many such establish-
ments this year appear with new looks and
features that satisfy even more their exalted
existences.
There are those off the beaten paths,
hidden away, etc., but because of their deli-
cious offerings, are found and coveted ...
Appreciated because, year after year, they
retain customer bases because of reasonable
prices, conviviality, goodness, etc.
Moe's on Ten, celebrating its 33rd anniver-
sary on 10 Mile, just west of Haggerty, Novi,
was once known as Leon's Family Dining and
captured a coveted audience ... Until owner
Moe Leon was surprisingly talked into open-
ing 14 years ago as Moe's Seafood Grill ...
The new chef had been noted for his prepa-
ration of wonders of the sea ... The focus
on seafood proved to be a huge mistake,
however, so Moe converted it into one of this
area's highly coveted family restaurants ...
The name was changed and became Moe's
on Ten as suggested by his wife, Debra, who
runs their Leon's Family Dining in Wixom.
"Quality is everything; said Moe, who
went on a one-man crusade of doing his own
marketing and preparing and serving high-
quality food at reasonable
prices. "We are a family,
neighborhood restaurant
like the kind Debra and I
have always prided our-
selves on having. We will
never, ever serve anything
but top quality at low
prices:'

OLDIE BUT GOODIE DEPT. ... She
awakes and finds her husband not in bed but
downstairs in deep thought as he wipes away
a tear. "What's the matter, dear?" she asks.
"Do you remember 20 years ago when
we were dating when you were only 16, and
your father caught us in the back seat of my
car?" he said. "Do you remember he shoved
the shotgun in my face and said, 'Either you
marry my daughter, or I will send you to jail
for 20 years?"'
"I remember; she replied softly.
He wiped another tear from his cheek and
said, "I would have been out of jail today and
a free man!"
