The CSO has a deep commitment to performing in Ann Arbor, with
over 200 performances since its 1892 UMS debut in University Hall,
just a year after the orchestra's beginnings. The CSO's 10th music
director, Riccardo Muti, has more than 40 years of experience at the
helm of major orchestras, festivals, and opera houses around the
world, including the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Teatro alla Scala
in Milan.
