She met Silverman her future husband at a Hadassah dance during World War II at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Married for 64 years, Audrey was active with Congregation Beth Achim's sisterhood, Jewish Women's International and Jewish War Veteran's Auxiliary. Mrs. Silverman is survived by her daughter, Sherri Gelb; son-in-law, Dr. Richard Gelb; and grandson, Eric Gelb of Huntington Woods; daughters, Susanne Silverman of Minnesota, Dennise Trager of Oregon; and grandchildren, Katy and Daniel Trager. She was the beloved wife of the late Meyer Silverman; mother of the late Ron Silverman; daughter of the late Etta and the late Harry Berlin of Brooklyn.
