He received his medical degree from
Queens University and completed his
residence in ophthalmology at Henry Ford
Hospital. He was a clinical professor at Wayne
State University, had a private practice in
Wyandotte and performed surgery both
at Kellogg Eye Institute and at Wyandotte
Hospital, where he was president of staff.
Dr. Barsky was predeceased by his parents,
Morris and Anna; his brothers, Samuel and
James; and longtime companion, Joann Weber.
He is survived by his nephews and niece,
Stephen Barsky, Michael Barsky, Allan Barsky,
Melvin Barsky, Robert Barsky and Rosalind
Kaplan.
Services and interment were held in
Canada. Contributions may be made to
the Barsky Endowed Prize Fund at Wayne
State University. Local arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.
