Sherman, and Bernice Berman and
Seymour Schwartz.
She attends Walnut Creek Middle
School in West Bloomfield. Of her many
mitzvah experiences, Taylor found volun-
teering and making sandwiches at Temple
Israel for the South Oakland Shelter resi-
dents to be the most meaningful.

Ethan Edward Broida
celebrated his bar
mitzvah at the
Birmingham Temple
in Farmington Hills on
Friday, Aug. 28. He is
the son of Rick and
Shawna Broida of
Broida
Commerce Township
and brother of Sarah.
Ethan is the grandson of Ed and Edie
Broida, and Sandra Whalen.
Ethan is in the seventh grade at Sarah
Banks Middle School in Wixom. For his
mitzvah project, he performed several
community-service activities.

private service for fam-
ily and friends at the
Jewish Community
Center. Will is the
younger brother of Allison and the grand-
son of Jacqueline and Myron Milgrom,
and Phyllis and Arnold Serlin.
He attends Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills.
He enjoyed volunteering for Farmington
Hills-based JARC.

was called to the Torah
as a bat mitzvah on

She was joined by her

Matthew. Annie was joined by her proud
grandparents Dr. Henry and Janice Citron
of West Bloomfield, and Mark and Judy
Kaplan of Burlington, Vt.

Annie is a seventh-grade student at
Norup International School in Oak Park
She is working on an oral history of
Congregation Beth Shalom members for
her mitzvah project.

Shelby Brooke Cohen
will celebrate her bat
mitzvah as she is called
to the bimah at
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield on
Saturday, Sept 19. She
is the loving daughter
Cohen
of Alyssa and Aric
Cohen and sister of
Courtney. Her proud grandparents are
Barbara and Maury Katzman, Jackie
Cohen Warnick and Allan Warnick. She is
also the grandchild of the late Stewart
Cohen.
Shelby attends 0. E. Dunckel Middle
School in Farmington Hills. As part of her
mitzvah project, she raised funds for and
volunteered at Operation Common Good,
where 100 percent of the proceeds go to
needy families in the school district.

Victor Thomas Jacobs
will become a bar
mitzvah on Saturday,
Sept 19, at Temple
Israel in West
Bloomfield. He will be
joined in celebration
by his proud parents,
Jacobs
Lisa and Dan Jacobs.
Victor is the grand-
child of the late Sandy and Edward
Fiarman, and Grace and the late John
Jacobs.
He is a student at Abbott Middle School
in West Bloomfield. For his mitzvah proj-
ect, Victor volunteered with PeerCorps
at the Detroit Black Community Food
Security Network (DBCFSN) to provide
and promote urban farming. He found
this experience, which helps to combat
hunger in our communities, to be very
meaningful.

Jordyn Michelle Lash,
daughter of Stacey and
Joseph Lash, will be
called to the Torah as a
bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Sept 19, at
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield. Sharing in
Lash
her celebration will be
her siblings Cara and
Andrew. Jordyn is the granddaughter of
Carol and Dr. Steven Lash, Harold Cohen
and Marsha Dickman, and the late Carol
Cohen.
Jordyn is a student at Norup
International Middle School in Oak Park.
As part of her meaningful mitzvah expe-
riences, she volunteered at special needs
camp at Burton Elementary School.
