he 13th annual Walk of Ages took place Sunday, Aug. 23, on the
Applebaum Jewish campus in West Bloomfield. A beautiful day met
walkers of all ages who came together to support older adults in the
community living at residences run by Jewish Senior Life.
Following some welcoming speeches and warm-up exercises, the group took off
to complete the 5k walk.
The walk is sponsored by Friends of Jewish Senior Life and funds donated ensure
quality support to more than 900 adults living in six residences. The Friends also
operate two Nosh Nooks and three gift shops. This year's walk raised about $55,000.
JN Publisher/Executive Editor Arthur Horwitz and his wife, Gina, served as
grand marshals, with JN columnist Danny Raskin as grand marshal emeritus. ❑
