OV (Tikkun Olam Volunteers) Rosh Hashanah Packages is an annual community service event run by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit's Women's Philanthropy in partnership with Jewish Senior Life. During the event, 500 care packages are assembled and delivered for Jewish seniors living in non-Jewish senior homes. This year, the event happened on two days so that TOV could be a part of the Pitch for Detroit festivities. On Sunday, Aug. 23, TOV set up work stations at Belle Isle for Pitch for Detroit participants and community members to come by and decorate holiday cards and boxes. They also organized other parcels for the annual event that occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 25. TOV decorated more than 200 holi- day cards with the help and support of Women's Philanthropy, families and some artistic kickball players. Between both days, more than 150 volunteers, ranging from young people to age 90, participated. TOV chairs are Susi Schoenberger and Jen Freedland; associ- ate chairs are Sharon Resnick and Beth Snider. ❑ Lois Haron Allied Member ASID 248.851.6989 Common Ground's 41st Annual Birmingham Street Art Fair September 19 & 20 Saturday, 10am - 6pm & Sunday, 10am - 5pm On Old Woodward in the heart of downtown Birmingham f Featuring the Annual Art Auction that supports Common Ground's mission to help people move from crisis to hope www.BirminghamStreetArtFair.com Common "'CRAIN'S Ground =Best-managed CM NONPROFIT 4 0/;veri No.& Common mmzEri• Ground crisis to Ao /oe CommonGroundHelps.org Produced in association with 734.662.3382 •TheGuild.org w Guild A group of volunteers works on pieces for the packages. 1111111111111111111'i 11( 11; With special thanks to iN 1996860 May the coming year be filled with health and happiness and pvospevity for. all oar.
