"Israel is unusually

Beth Ahm is our spiritual oasis.
Participatory services full of song
and ruach bring us closer to God
while Shabbat lunch engages us
with friends and family. Each week,
we look forward to being part of the
community in our spiritual home.

– Rebecca Shimoni Stoil

But the Obama administration
disagrees, she said. The U.S. will
lose credibility on the internation-
al scene and the dollar itself will
lose credibility.
"On the other hand, if the U.S does
back out of the deal, Team Con says
Congress has negated deals in the
past that the president made and it
did not collapse
Although Israel is unusually uni-
fied (70 percent) in its opposition
to the Iran deal, there's no con-
sensus on what to do now that it's
made, she added.
No minds were changed after
the talk.
"With sanctions off, Iran will have
so much money to cause problems in
the Middle East, whether it's Hamas,
Hezbollah, Libya, Tunisia," said Bert
Stein of West Bloomfield. "I think our
president is very naive. He wanted a
deal so badly that he wanted to make
a deal that's his legacy, and he's going
to be long gone before we know what
it really means"
Albert Goldstein of West
Bloomfield said Stoil was "keeping it
on a neutral keel. People have to have
some energy and intensity and invest-
ment in the outcome of this."
His wife, Shari, said Stoil made
her "feel more comfortable if, God
forbid, the deal goes through — it
won't be a final thing; it won't be
over; the fat lady isn't singing; there's
still a chance"
Allan Gale, associate director of the
Jewish Community Relations Council
of Metropolitan Detroit, a co-sponsor
of the event, said Stoil was a success.
"We asked her to talk about how
this lays out; we asked her for analy-
sis," he said.
"We've had several events with
varying viewpoints. The JCRC is not
taking a position, but we're allow-
ing people in the community to ask
these people anything they want.
Learn as much as you can, question
the arguments on both sides, and
then decide

We invite you to experience Beth
Ahm by joining us on Shabbat and
staying for lunch, coming to an event,
or speaking with Rabbi Rubenstein.

Let us help you make Beth Ahm
your spiritual home.
