Goldberg soon realized, "It didn't
make sense to do anything else.
You can choose a career you don't
like, or you can choose to make
your passions a career."
Goldberg chose the latter.
Though she mostly plays elec-
tronica, a recent gig required her to
play punk and new wave music. "My
partner and I had to research that
time period and present the music
to the audience in the most com-
prehensive way possible."
Playing to the audience's tastes
is the norm. "The music that people
want to listen to at 2 p.m. on a
Saturday afternoon is different than
1 a.m. on a Thursday. What makes a
good DJ is being in tune with what
the audience wants, and what will

who motivate and inspire her,
her biggest influence has been
her mom, Annie, the co-owner of
Mannie's Bagel and Delicatessen in
Lake Orion; Goldberg considers her
mother an example of "hard work
and discipline," all it takes to "get
everything you want. I'm lucky to
have learned it very early on."
She's done well making her
dreams come true, too. "I've
played at probably every venue
in Detroit; I've played in Europe
and on the radio like I've always
wanted to."
She adds, with a chuckle, "I'm
running out of dreams."
