ZOA To Honor Four
At Balfour Celebration
The Zionist Organization of America-
Michigan Region will present several
awards of merit to distinguished com-
munity members at
this year's Balfour
Celebration.
The Justice Louis
D. Brandeis Award
will be presented to

Walk4Friendship Features
Circus, Food And Fun
The 2015 Walk4Friendship, on Sunday,
Sept. 6, will again be led by TV news
personalities Diana Lewis and Charlie
Langton. The goal is to raise $600,000
for West Bloomfield-based Friendship
Circle to help children with special needs
lead better and more fulfilling lives.
Featured entertainment includes the
Cincinnati Circus, featuring stilt walk-
ers, jugglers, magicians, fire-eaters and
aerial acrobats. Performances will be
2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community
Center in West Bloomfield.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.
with the festivities starting at 12:30
with opening ceremonies at Friendship
Circle, 6892 West Maple, followed by
a simultaneous 5K and 1-mile walk at
12:45. Food and festivities continue at
1:30 at the JCC. Admission is free; dona-
tions are welcome.
Also featured will be a 100-foot zip
line, a giant cliff hanger slide, petting
zoo, horse rides, carnival games and
other attractions.

Set For 2015-16
JARC, an organization serving people
with disabilities, recently held its 46th
Annual Meeting at JARC's Frederick H.
Pitt Home in Bloomfield Hills to elect its
board for 2015-2016.
David Grand of Ann Arbor con-
tinues in his role as president. Newly
seated officers are President-Elect
David Carroll of West Bloomfield;
Vice Presidents Dani Gillman of
West Bloomfield and Joshua Tobias
of Farmington Hills; and Secretary
Miriam Leventhal of West Bloomfield.
Re-elected as treasurer is Janis Shulman
of Farmington Hills.
Newly elected board members are
Dan Collins of Orchard Lake, Dolores
Galea of Detroit, Joshua Jacobs of
Farmington Hills, Adam Jahnke of
Huntington Woods, Howard Luckoff
of Bloomfield Hills and Dan Weiner
of Berkley. Re-elected to an additional
board term are Jodi Fox and Deborah
Kovsky-Apap, both of Huntington
Woods. All members will serve for three
years.
