obituaries IRVING BRATEMAN, 90, of Farmington Hills, died June 27, 2015. He was a retired Navy veteran from the U.S.S. Bataan. He then went into the clothing store business and was an owner of Brateman Brothers in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was active with Israel Bonds and B'nai Jacob in Fort Wayne. Mr. Brateman is survived by his wife, Elaine Brateman; sons and daughter-in- law, Dr. Robert Brateman, Dr. Jonathan and Lea Brateman of Southfield; grand- daughter, Reut Rachel Brateman. Jody helped create a vibrant and creative home schooling com- munity and a highly Cantor thought of nature edu- cation program. She gave her life to being a nurturing and loving mom and inspired hundreds of parents to be the same. She was deeply loved and leaves behind a devoted group of family, friends, caregiv- ers and hundreds of people in her "healing circle" that watched her daunting medical journey over the last two years online and will be touched by her forever. To everyone in our circle, and everyone who has sent their loving thoughts and prayers, we are profoundly grateful. Jody is survived by her devoted hus- band, Dr. Randy Baker; daughters, Rumi and Naia. Jody was the beloved daughter of Barbara Cantor of West Bloomfield and the late Larry Cantor. Her loving sisters are Susie Cantor, Wendy Vandegrift, Nancy Cohen-Vardy, Marcy Grantor; her late brother was Robert Cantor. Surviving lov- ing nieces and nephews are Dafni Moon, Micha Vardy, Coby Vardy, Ariel Vardy, Raviv Cohen, Ruby and Mia Cassidy, Malia and Marley Grantor. Jody was the granddaughter of the late Ruth and the late Jules Klein, the late Sam and Frankie Cantor. She was the beloved daughter-in-law of Audree Baker.
