Mitzvah Day

B'nai Moshe volunteers package seeds
for Detroit urban farmers.

0

n Sunday, June 14,
Congregation B'nai Moshe
of West Bloomfield held
its Mitzvah Day of volunteering in
conjunction with Repair the World:
Detroit. Originally, participants were
going to be working on an urban farm,
but thunderstorms did not allow for
that. Instead, the volunteers went to
the Repair the World workshop where

they packed 1,700 packages of spinach
and carrot seeds for distribution to
Detroit urban farms.
Volunteers ranged in age from 3-76,
demonstrating that performing mitz-
vot has no age requirement or limita-
tion. Ellen Starr, who attended with
her husband, Joe, and children Shira,
Zachary and Evan, said, "This was
great. We have to do this again:' ❑
