IDEANE LUBY, 87,
of Franklin, died July
1, 2015.
She was a gradu-
ate of Central High
School, where she was
a class valedictorian,
and the University
Luby
of Michigan School
of Education with
honors. Following
graduation, she worked as a teacher and
later in life as a paralegal, office manager
and tax consultant. However, the role she
most enjoyed was as wife, mother and
homemaker.
Mrs. Luby was an exuberant and viva-
cious woman who was deeply devoted
to her children and family, all of whom
adored her. She also had many close
friends to whom she gave affection
and counsel. She was an avid traveler
throughout Europe, China, Russia and
the Middle East. She was an independent
thinker with a sharp wit and was active
in social causes that she favored. She was
also a talented artist with a keen sense
of style. Her expressions of affection and
joy will be deeply missed by her family
and friends.
Mrs. Luby is survived by her husband
of 65 years, Dr. Elliot Luby; children,
Arthur and Cynthia Luby of Springfield,
Va., Howard and Margot Luby of
Birmingham, Dr. Joan L. and Steven
Hirsch of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren,
Matthew Luby, Meredith Luby, Adam
Newcomer and Leah Newcomer; sister-
in-law, Sybil Levenson.
She was the daughter of the late
Hyman and the late Lillian Levenson; the
dear sister of the late Arabelle Osnos, the
late Max Osnos, and the late Dr. Malcolm
Levenson (Sybil); sister-in-law of the
late Robert Luby and the late Miriam
Luby, the late Mildred Lewis and the late
Morton Lewis.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made

Wooll; brother-in-law of the late
Edward Weinstein.

family members and friends.
Mrs. Plotncik was the beloved wife
of the late Dr. Harold Plotnick; the
sister of the late Dr. Marvin (the late
Elaine) Weston.

ity of one's choice. Interment took
place at the Beth El Memorial Park
