this unique taste fest of local restau-
rants and eateries from the "D" will
feature plenty of tequila, margaritas and
Mexican beer samples. Live Latin jazz by
Sean Blackman & the In Transit Trio will
turn up the heat for this summer series.

Big Grill Burger Bash at the Royal Oak
Farmers Market. Sample Michigan's
best burgers and brews all under one
roof. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. for
general admission and runs until 11

tickets are $75 and include 15 craft beer
samples and early entry beginning at
6:30 p.m. Additional craft beer 3 oz.

Last month, Roak Brewing Co., the
newest microbrewery in Michigan,
opened at 330 E. Lincoln Ave. in Royal
Oak. Roak Brewing Co. is an 18,000
square-foot facility dedicated to the
production and bottling of seven new
Michigan-inspired craft brews. Roak
beer will be served in-house and distrib-
uted for sale in restaurants and retailers
throughout Southeast Michigan. Roak
is open 4-10 p.m. Monday-Wednesday,
noon-11 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and
noon-10 p.m. Sunday. A menu features
pizzas and other small plates.

food truck, which debuted at the Detroit
Grand Prix, will be found around town
this summer at various events, festivals
and food truck rallies and is also avail-
able for catering and private events.

New Restaurants

Northville will debut four new restau-
rants this summer: Wok Asian Bistro,
144 Mary Alexander Court, serves Asian
fusion cuisine; Urge Juice, 137 E. Main
St., serves handcrafted cold-pressed
raw juice and vegan snacks; Lucy &
the Wolf, 102 E. Main St., is a Spanish-
inspired small plates bistro; and Center

Street Grille, 135 N. Center St., will
open this month, featuring gourmet
pizza, pasta, burgers, salads, sandwiches
and a children's menu.

A Taste of Mabel Gray

One of the most-anticipated restaurants
slated to open is Mabel Gray, which
is set to open at 23825 John R Road in
Hazel Park later this year. It will be a
while before it's open for business, but
you can have the chance to sample what's
cooking: Hamtramck's Revolver space
has announced a Mabel Gray dinner
cooked by Mabel Gray's celebrity chef,
James Rigato, on Thursday, July 30.
