ichard Harris died nearly 15 years ago, but when his
son Jason got married in 2011, he was looking on.
Shirlee Wyman Harris wanted her late husband and
other departed loved ones to be part of the simchah.
She gathered photos from her family and the family of
Jason's fiancee, Lisa Young, and incorporated them into the
Barbara Lewis I Contributing Writer chuppah (bridal canopy).
"I had them put on transfer paper and then transferred
them onto a large piece of muslin that became the top of the
chuppah," said Harris of Commerce Township. The project
took about two months to complete.
There were photos of Harris' parents, Edith and Irving
