Born Margit Kaufler in Budapest, Hungary, on April 12, 1925, Margaret was an amazing and cou- rageous woman and the sole family survivor of the Holocaust. She withstood the horrors of Auschwitz, met and married her soulmate, Albert, and came to America in 1948 on the first birthday of her son, Tony. Her daughter Ellen was born three years later. Margaret created a beautiful life for her family and recently spoke of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as her "family garden:' who will remember her every day. She devoted herself passionately to her family. In addition, she gave many hours of her time and her love to numerous charities, including ORT and Hadassah.
