The homeowner, who had
emigrated from Poland with her
parents as a young girl, has curated a
collection of artwork from her native
country — brightly colored abstracts
and landscapes that now take pride of
place in her home. At the same time,
both the homeowner and Weinstein
envisioned a mostly monochromatic
home, which served as a textural
groundwork from which playful
pops of color and dramatic details
emerged.
As a result, "the entire home
was customized to the needs of the
homeowner," Weinstein says. "And
each piece is extremely well chosen
for each space." ❑

texture – here, with wallpaper, a
striae patterned silk from Phillip
Jeffries. "Wallpaper doesn't have
to be heavy," Weinstein says. "But
it can really add a lot of depth and drama." A hairy hide custom-sized
rug grounds an antique-mirror center table, whose curved feet echo the
curve of the door.
