Metropolitan Detroit will honor
five people for outstanding
dedication, leadership and commitment
to the community on Thursday, May 21,
5:30 p.m., at Hillel Day School, 32200
Middlebelt, Farmington Hills.

chairing a Young Russians Group for
NEXTGen Detroit as well as co-chairing
Transitions for Women's Philanthropy. A
past member of the NEXTGen Detroit
board, she serves on the board of
Federation's Women's Philanthropy and as
a trustee for Jewish Women's Foundation.

Lifetime Achievement Awards

Frank A. Wetsman
Young Leadership Award
Established in 1961 by Mrs. Frank A.
Wetsman and William M. Wetsman as a
memorial to their beloved husband and
father, this award recognizes exceptional
leadership potential and service to the
Jewish community by a young man.
Brian Y. Satovsky is this year's win-
ner. A past president of the Young Adult
Division (now NEXTGen Detroit), he
continues to devote himself to the Jewish
community here and around the world.
A past chair of Federation's Mission
Committee (now called the Nora and
Guy Barron Mission Lab), as well as a
past member of the Israel and Overseas
Committee, he has been part of the
development of the
special relationship
between Detroit and
the Central Galilee of
Israel. A past board
member of JVS and
the United Jewish
Foundation, he

of Federation.

These two awards will be presented to
Harvey Bronstein and Margot Halperin.
Bronstein feels strongly about being
a committed and engaged member of
the Detroit Jewish community. He has
served on the boards of Hebrew Free
Loan, Hillel of Metropolitan Detroit,
Jewish Community Relations Council,
Jewish Historical Society of Michigan,
Federation and the United Jewish
Foundation, to name a few.
Supporting women's
issues, specifically
women's philanthropy,
has been a highlight
of Margot Halperin's
volunteer career. A
founding trustee of
the Jewish Women's
Harvey
Foundation, she shows
Bronstein
support by engaging
in causes that speak to
her. A longtime sup-
porter of Federation's
Annual Campaign,
she has served on the
Campaign Cabinet,
Ruby Lion of Judah
Committee, Lion of
Margot
Judah Affinity and
Halperin
Endowment com-
mittees as well as the
boards of Yad Ezra, Federation, JVS, the
United Jewish Foundation and Beaumont's
Ministrelli Women's Heart Center.

Sylvia Simon Greenberg Award

This award was established in 1965 by the
late Samuel S. Greenberg and Ronald and
John Greenberg as a memorial to their
beloved wife and mother. It notes excep-
tional leadership potential and service to
the Jewish community by a young woman.
Regina Colton is this year's outstand-
ing female leader who has demonstrated
great promise, interest in and service to
Federation, its agencies and its Annual
Campaign.
Colton has embraced the Detroit
Jewish community
with enthusiasm and
tenacity. She and her
family emigrated from
the former Soviet
Union when she was
a young girl, and she
has been giving back
to the community ever
since. She is currently

Mark-Lis Family
Young Leadership Award
This award, created in 1993 by Florine
Mark and her family, recognizes an
established leader in NEXTGen Detroit
who has shown outstanding commit-
ment and achieved remarkable success.
Adam Blanck has been selected. He
blazed back to Detroit after graduating
University of Michigan School of Law
with an idea to create a community
sporting event with proceeds benefiting
Israel. With a friend, he founded Pitch
for Israel, which evolved into Pitch
for Detroit, and has raised thousands
of dollars and produced tremendous
goodwill among NEXTGen Detroiters
and their families. Blanck became co-
chair of NEXTGen Detroit's 2015 EPIC
event as well as a board member of the
Jewish Community Relations Council
and NEXTGen Detroit.
