Under the direction of teacher Deb Motley, the students read litera- ture dealing with young adults fac- ing challenging situations, studied intolerance of all types, and concen- trated on concepts of tikkun olam and tzedakah. As part of their diver- sity curriculum, they visited the Holocaust Memorial Center and the Arab American National Museum. Each student also completed a paper on a Jewish topic and partici- pated in a community service proj- ect. Students spent time with their parents volunteering at the Yad Ezra food pantry and the Fall Fix Up; many assisted at Friendship Circle, various food banks and the Jewish Federation's Mitzvah Day. .
