Lillien, labeling herself a workaholic
and defining her work as synonymous
with fun, looks to her husband as a role
model for moving ideas forward. Dan
Schneider has developed shows for
Nickelodeon. His latest, Henry Danger,
follows iCarly, Victorious and Drake &

Josh.
"If it weren't for my husband, I
wouldn't have been inspired to launch
Hungry Girl:' she says. "I've watched him
in action and envied how he was so good
at what he did."
At home, where she enjoys shopping
online and hanging out with a combina-
tion of pets, Lillien has about 15 go-to
Hungry Girl staples. They include eggs
in a mug, stir-fry combinations with
broccoli slaw, "growing" oatmeal and
yogurt parfait.
Fans, gravitating toward the same
favorites, have communicated that they
also have appreciated her guidance in
replacing frying with baking.
Lillien's visit to Michigan brings her to
the locale of a new venture — Hungry
Girl Pizza, a prepared dish produced
by Champion Foods and sold at Meijer
stores. A refrigerated entree, it can be
warmed in a toaster oven.
"It's a very warm feeling to speak in
a synagogue," says Lillien, who had a
Jewish upbringing. "I have done other
events at temples and love Jewish food.
I may be a person who avoids carbs, but
you can't keep me away from matzah
balls now and then.
"Every event where I meet people
face-to-face is the favorite part of what
I do. I love hearing that I have helped
people become healthier, A cantor
from Chicago said I helped save his life
because he lost 100 pounds.
"Most of those who use the recipes
are women so it really resonates with me
when I meet men, but it chokes me up
each time people tell me I've made them
healthier:' ❑

Girl Diet Cookbook: Healthy
Recipes for Mix-n-Match
Meals & Snacks is just hitting book-
stores this week. Here, a sampling
of the 200 new recipes included.

DOUBLE-CHOCOLATE
BROWNIE BITES
1 box moist-style devil's food
cake mix (15.25 to18.25 ounces)
1 15-ounce can pure pumpkin
'/4 cup mini semi-sweet choco-
late chips
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray
a 9-inch by 13-inch baking pan
with nonstick spray.
In a large bowl, mix cake mix
with pumpkin until completely
smooth and uniform. (Batter will
be thick.) Spread mixture into the
baking pan. Evenly top with choco-
late chips and lightly press into the
batter.
Bake until a toothpick inserted
into the center comes out mostly
clean, 25-30 minutes.
Let brownies cool. Slice length-
wise into fourths, and slice width-
wise into sixths.
Makes 24 servings. Nutritional
info for 1/24 of recipe (one 2-inch
brownie): 94 calories, 2g fat, 169mg
sodium, 18.5g carbs, 1.5g fiber,
10.5g sugars, lg protein.
