Horwitz 6 frontlines IN Aish Keeps Moms Mission Enthusiasm Growing Aish HaTorah reports that in the four months since its Detroit Mission of Moms came home, Aish has had a 97 percent par- ticipation rate with 993 attendances. "Follow-up is possible says Rabbi Simcha Tolwin of Aish Detroit. The key, says Tolwin, is reaching people where they are while still creating meaningful programs that are not perceived as just social or fluff "You would think that young moms are the most difficult to reach because they are so busy:' says Estie Tolwin, who runs the trips. "Yet, the moms are so responsive because they carry the torch of their famly's Jewish identity and are looking for ways to bring Judaism home:' Aish Detroit uses a sophisticated sales- force database to track attendance. "We rely on charitable dollars to make these trips and the follow-up programs happen, and our donors deserve to know the real numbers and the impact this program is having," says Simcha Tolwin. "Does this program have a good return on the investment of charitable dollars? These numbers show that it cer- tainly does:' Besides these programs, Tolwin says that the impact of the moms mission is being felt in the community. A recent ORT event had three tables of moms mission participants, and the Federation coffee talk had double the attendance thanks to the moms mission. Since 2009, Aish Detroit has taken six Mission of Moms with another two sched- uled this year as well as a dad's trip. Aish also offers a community-based Sunday school, preschool, weekly educational pro- grams and Shabbat. For information, call (248) 327-3579 or visit aishinthewoods.com.
