90, of Livonia, died April
10, 2015.
He was a veteran of
World War II.
Mr. Stein is survived

Karen and Joe Janiga of Livonia, Shari
Stein of Livonia; grandchildren, Elizabeth
Stein, Ariana Janiga, Evelyn Stein.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Evelyn Stein.
Contributions may be made to a veter-
ans' organization or to a charity of one's
choice. Interment was held at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park in Livonia. Arrangements
by Hebrew Memorial Chapel.
SOL LAWRENCE
STEIN, 90, of West
Sol Stein
c. 1976
Bloomfield, died April
10, 2015.
He was a proud World
War II veteran of both
the Pacific and European
theaters.
He is survived by his
daughters and son-in-law, Susan Baker
Ducey, and Linda and Spencer Minns;
grandchildren, Benny Goldman and Annie
Minns; many loving nieces, nephews and a
world of friends.
Mr. Stein was the beloved husband
for 64 years of the late Marion Stein; the
cherished father of the late Kenneth Brian
Stein.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made to
the Jewish Community Center, 6600 W.

JOYCE WECKSTEIN,
85, of Novi, died April 6,
2015.
A graduate of Central
High School and Wayne
State University, Joyce
became a physical edu-
cation teacher in the
Weckstein
Detroit Public Schools.
After raising her chil-
dren, Joyce got hooked
on racquetball and went on to become
a player and instructor, most notably at
Franklin Fitness Center, where she also
created and led the Young at Heart, the
senior exercise program. Mrs. Weckstein
is the author of two books on racquetball.
She was also known for her speedwalk-
ing five miles a day through the streets of
Twyckingham, her longtime Southfield
neighborhood.
Joyce was a fixture at the Jewish
Community Center as co-chairperson
of the Physical Education and Women's
Health Club committees, co-leader of a
JCC-sponsored hiking trip to Israel and
Hospitality Chairperson for the Maccabi
Games in 1984 and 1990.
As 10-year co-chair of the Special Needs
Committee, Joyce was also the found-
ing and 12-year co-chair of the West
Bloomfield Community Fame Games. She
was a lifetime honorary board member of
the JCC.
Mrs. Weckstein is survived by her hus-
band, Dr. Marvin Weckstein; children,
Louis Weckstein and Karen DeNevi,
Naomi Weckstein and Rabbi Elliot
Pachter of West Bloomfield, Sander
and Wendy Weckstein; grandchildren,
Carly Weckstein, Ariana Weckstein,
Gabriel Pachter, Jonathan Pachter, Ethan
Weckstein, Devin Weckstein, Taylor
Weckstein.
She was the dear sister and sister-in-
law of the late Allan and the late Lorraine
Kaplan.

Interment was held at Machpelah

SHARRON L. ZAMCZYK, 75, of
Farmington Hills, died April 6, 2015.
She is survived by her husband, Norman
Zamczyk; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy
Zamczyk, Dina and Erik Lindquist of
Farmington Hills; brother, Nelson Uten;
sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and
Jeremy Zimmerman; many loving neph-
ews, other family members and friends.
Contributions may be made to Kadima.
Interment took place at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.
Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.
