THE WENDY & RABBI PAUL YEDWAB
YOUTH ENRICHMENT ENDOWMENT
FUNDED BY

SUSAN AND THOMAS NORRIS

Temple Israel is grateful to announce a $1 million gift from
Susan and Thomas Norris. The gift will create the Wendy &
Rabbi Paul Yedwab Youth Enrichment Fund and will support
a variety of youth enrichment activities offered or sponsored
by Temple Israel.

This generous gift was born out of Tom's long standing
relationship with the Temple Israel clergy, particularly Rabbi
Paul Yedwab. Tom met Wendy and Rabbi Yedwab in 1990
when they worked on youth programs together. Ultimately
he left youth work, but Tom never stopped being interested in
and dedicated to Jewish youth.

Originally a youth director and then a MSTY advisor, Tom
was always committed to working with youth and recognized
the significance of connecting with our future leaders.
His greatest reward was seeing how young people grew and

changed through positive, engaging activities. Also a 7th grade
religious school teacher, Tom found great value in allowing his
youth to take ownership of their activities and projects. He felt
it was the best way for them to connect to Judaism.

"We hope to capture the interest of our youth now," Tom said,
"so that we will have them as an integral part of our Jewish
Community in the future."

Susie strongly believes that staying connected is the hope for
our Jewish youth, and she is very proud that their gift is in
honor of Wendy and Rabbi Paul Yedwab. "The Yedwabs'
strong commitment to youth activities inspired us to name
the fund in their honor," Susie explained.

Tom and Susie hope that their gift supporting youth
enrichment will inspire others to donate to Temple for youth
or other activities in which they have a special interest.
