ABOVE: In the dining room, Pollak
opened up the wall over the buffet and
overlooking the staircase to give it a
sense of airiness. All of these rooms
opened off the foyer, so it was a challenge
to make it look cohesive, rather than
choppy," she says. Once she opened it,
Pollak then refined it into a cozy yet
sophisticated space. Art Deco-style
chairs line a custom walnut extension
table. Below the cut-out wall, Pollak
designed a clean-lined, two-toned buffet
installed with mother-of-pearl hardware,
for a little bling," she says, also found
in the cascading crystal chandelier.
RIGHT: "I wanted something that really
pops," says Pollak of the red-lacquered
vanity she designed for the powder room.
Escutcheons on the corners, cup pulls
and a peek of crystal on the faucet add
a bit of tradition to this powerful piece.
Pollak removed a tub from the powder
room to add more space to the master
bath, directly behind, and covered the
walls in wipeable charcoal damask-style
print by Arte.
