Jennie Rivlin Roberts' love for
Chanukah — and poker.
"Season after Chanukah season
[my husband and I] would search,
hopeful to find cool new Chanukah
decorations at the local Judaica
shop," says Atlanta-based Roberts,
who previously used her Ph.D. in
industrial and organizational psy-
chology to consult for Fortune 500
companies.
"Yet after wading through a sea of
blue and gold paper goods and dolls
singing in Yiddish, we began to won-
der if these items were the Chanukah
equivalent of Christmas fruitcake:'
If Chanukah symbolizes religious
freedom, she wondered, should Jews
also be free from "shlocky" design?
First, Roberts and her husband,

Webb, invented the No Limit Texas
Dreidel, which crosses dreidel with
Texas Hold'em poker — then cre-
ated a website to sell it, which they
launched in 2007. From there, Rob-
erts searched high and low through-
out the U.S., Israel and Europe to
find the most clever, fun and often
beautifully designed and meaningful
Judaica available, and offered those
items on her website, too.
