Samantha Shihadeh, marketing manager for Sam Michael's
Menswear in Farmington Hills, says the most popular look for
spring and summer weddings this year is navy.
"It's definitely dark enough to be dressy; has just enough
color to make the right accessories pop and, when hit with
the right lighting, a good navy suit can be pretty spectacular,"
she says. "Dark navy, more than most colors, complements just
about any skin or hair tone."
Also popular, she says, is the extreme slim fit, a European
look that looks great with bowties. Satin on a narrow lapel
is also hot as is the one-button peak lapel as opposed to the
traditional.

sophisticated elegant event or rustic occasion."
When it comes to decor, Phaneuf says there continues
to be a growing theme for the bride and groom to
communicate their personalities through signature
centerpieces, natural wood accents, luxury linens and
decorative lighting.
"For the rustic wedding, mason jars, burlap and lace
are all still trendy, but couples are trying to find a way
to make it unique," she says. "Instead of wildflowers
and wooden signs, couples are trading them in for pink
colored containers and big fluffy peonies. The burlap is
being replaced by sparkly linens. The result is a wedding

As for cakes, metallic icing and dustings of glitter are
again strong this year. "New for 2015, however, and at the opposite end of the spectrum, is the
'naked cake.' Without the layer of outside icing, it is considered to be the epitome of simplicity,"
she says.

Go Fluorescent!
It's a 2015 new trend that will knock your
socks off!
"It's all about pop of color: neon lime, safety
orange, fluorescent fuchsia and a plethora of
purple," say Terri Trepeck and Susan Siegal of
Event Bliss in downtown Franklin.
"You can't go wrong with glitter or glow.
Light up everything — the more the better!
Tables, dance floors, balloons and even place
cards should twinkle."
Siegal adds, "A great goodie bag sends
your guests home with something that they
can actually love to wear or use, such as an
athletic bag, filter water bottle or, for an
extra flash, a Flashdance sweatshirt or tee.

A tasty treat to enjoy at home is always a
crowd pleaser."
The party can be fabulous without going
over your budget, they add.
"It's the attention to detail that can make
it look and feel like you got the most bang
for your buck. In the past, clients have come
to think hiring a party planner is a huge
expense that they just can't afford," Siegal
says. "In fact, choosing the right person
to help you plan your event can save you
money, time and aggravation."
