year I answered the phone and spoke to
my friend, Larry, whom I gave a play-
by-play to. Absolutely true. I don't think
Larry believed me until my voice sud-
denly went up two octaves.
Too much information, you say? Well,
I like to think of it as more of a public
service announcement for men's health.
OK, enough birthday banter and on to
some really exciting news. I'm thrilled
to announce I've been hired to write an
original screenplay inspired by one of
this year's Academy Award-nominated
films, American Sniper. My working
title is American Snipper; it's the true
life story of the world's most prolific
mohel. I can only dream that my film
will be considered worthy of an Oscar
next year. Depending on the final draft,
it will either be a full-length motion
picture or, if my mohel story requires
significant editing, it still might have
a chance to win for Best Short Subject.
And if it does — the celebratory seven-
layer cake is on me!
