EPIC Event," said Alan J.
Kaufman. "In the three years
that we have had the privilege of
being the presenting sponsor, we
have seen the tremendous reach
and impact that this event has
had on the NEXTGen community
and its emerging leaders.
"We are confident that this
bright, passionate and generous
generation will no doubt carry
on the legacy of a vibrant and
thriving Jewish community in
Detroit."
T.J. Miller, comedian and star
of HBO's Silicon Valley, will
be the headlining act at this
year's EPIC, performing a full
hour of live standup. A pre-
event reception and late-night
dancing will bookend the main
event, which has a few new big
surprises in store for attendees
including an additional live
entertainment act.
"Our aim is to provide a fun,
celebratory night for young
professionals in our community
who have put forth time,
leadership and generosity," said
Scott Mitnick, NEXTGen Detroit
board member and EPIC co-chair.
"At the same time, we use
EPIC as a platform to illustrate
how such time, leadership and
generosity is needed to keep our
local and global Jewish community
moving forward," he said.
"EPIC is a night that truly
embodies what we work to
accomplish at the Jewish
Federation and NEXTGen
Detroit: build Jewish community,
strengthen Jewish identity and
grow Jewish philanthropy," said
Adam Blanck, NEXTGen Detroit
board member and EPIC co-chair.
"We're bringing together
hundreds of young Detroiters,
which really highlights the
vibrancy of our community,
and we're also collectively
recognizing and celebrating our
generation's commitment to the
future of Jewish Detroit."
