Born in Detroit, she was the young-

Hyman Mickelson. She was the loving
sister of the late Louis and Florence
Mickelson, Harry Mickelson, Moshe
Mickelson, Faye and Irving Slutsky, Ida
and Samuel Oventhal, and Dorothy and
Bernie Appelblatt.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law,
Thelma Mickelson Mazur, many loving
nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-
nephews and cousins.

avid Lebenbom, 89, of
Bloomfield Hills, died Jan. 7,
2015.
He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., in
1925, the oldest of four children of a
poor family. He graduated from Central
High School in Detroit, served
in the U.S. Army Signal Corps
during World War II, graduated
from Wayne State University and
Columbia Law School.
Mr. Lebenbom was a distin-
guished member of the Michigan
State Bar for more than 60 years.
During his career, he was a pio-
neer in the law governing the care
and treatment of the elderly in
Michigan. During his long career,
he served on the Law Revision
David
Commission, co-authored the
Michigan Public Health Code
and represented the Health Care
Association of Michigan.
In addition to practicing law, Mr.
Lebenbom served as Wayne County
Democratic Party Chairman during John
F. Kennedy's successful presidential run
in 1960 and served as Robert Kennedy's
campaign chairman in Michigan in 1968.
He also served as a past president of the
Jewish Community Council and served
on the board of the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit.
