Having A Ball
First Detroit MatzoBall attracts 350 people.
A
bout 350 young Jewish singles came
to the Twist Night Club in Ferndale,
site of Detroit's first-ever MatzoBall.
Local coordinator for the event was
Jenny Feterovich, 39, of Bloomfield, also a popular
DJ with the nom-de-disc Jenny LaFemme. She led
the entertainment along with DJ Gene, Freddy Lux
and special guests.
"It was a wonderful evening," Feterovich said.
"A lot of people danced and met one another.
Hopefully next year, there will be some weddings
because of those meetings at the MatzoBall."
Before the event, Feterovich led a group to
serve dinner — including matzah ball soup
donated by Epic Kosher Catering — at the
Detroit Rescue Mission. "We fed almost 200
people, who I don't think had ever had matzah
ball soup before," she said. "It was fantastic."
