Dershowitz In The House Annual Holocaust Center dinner draws big crowd to hear famed lawyer. A ttorney, activist and TV analyst Alan Dershowitz energized the crowd with a question-and-answer session on far-ranging topics led by Steven Grant, chairman of the HMC board, at the Holocaust Memorial Center's 30th Anniversary Dinner in November at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield. The annual fundraising event for the Farmington Hills museum drew nearly 1,300 people. The dinner also honored Dr. Richard K. Stoler of Bloomfield Township for his dedica- tion to preserving the past so future generations can learn from it by connecting members of the community to its Eastern European roots. His main area of focus centers within a 60-mile radius of Bereznitz in the Ukraine. Through the guidance and assistance of HMC Head Librarian Feiga Weiss and Temple Beth El Historical Society Archivist Jan Durecki, Stoler estimates he has helped approximately 300 people over the past decade find distant relatives, their places of birth and learn their families' history. Chairpersons for the dinner were Jackie and Joel Smith. Lori and Steven Weisberg served as dinner advisers.
