The tribute trio — paying homage to Maxine, Patty and LaVerne Andrews — plans an upbeat New Year's Eve during an event arranged by the Jewish Ensemble Theatre. The title for the evening of entertain- ment and partying is Bei Mir Bist Du Shoen ("You Are Beautiful to Me"), from the Andrews Sisters' hit song that popu- larized a sense of Yiddish culture among multicultural listeners. The song will be featured in the performance. "We want our show to be uplifting and hopeful:' says Carla Fiore, who organized the tribute group and plays Maxine. "For those who were fans of the group, I hope we can evoke some memories: Also singing will be Dawn Shelden as Patty and Nicole Barnhart as LaVerne.
